"The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step",                              Lao Tzu  famously wrote (or something a bit like that).

For many visual artists, our journey begins with a drawing. Personally, I've   done so many that it's difficult to know what should be the first step (at least as far as the RangerThomas.com drawings page is concerned).

In the hope that this site might one day become a kind of catalogue raisonné, I'll start by adding several drawings to each full update of  RangerThomas.com. There'll be a sample or two of the drawing I've been doing since the previous update and several samples of some older drawings.

These drawings are on a C17th theme and are related to the forthcoming publication "Apotheosis or A History of the Apotheosis of the Highwayman".

These drawings (also related to "Apotheosis or A History of the Apotheosis of the Highwayman") are studies for "Dame Britannica Hollandia ( flourished 1684) as Little Bo-Peep" - the finished painting of whom is featured on the Beautiful Monsters page...
